Do Caron Design provide web hosting?

Yes we do provide basic hosting and for most of our clients our hosting is more than sufficient. However, if you need a large amount of webspace, or multiple email addresses with auto responders a tailor made hosting package from a reputable company, such as 1&1.com would be a cost effective solution.

Where can I get a domain name?

Caron Design can register a domain name on your behalf. All .co.uk domains are registered for two years and then they require re-registering. We will contact you when they are due for renewal

Alternatively you can register a domain name yourself, or if you already have your domain name, Caron Design can make sure that your domain name is pointing to your new web site. If you have the details of the company you registered with, then this will make the whole process easier!

Can I update the content for my site?

When we design your site you are automatically entitled to 30 days of free updates from the date the site goes live. After this point any updates you require will be charged at a fixed rate hourly fee, agreed during the initial consultation stage.

If you wish to have your site stored and uploaded from your own pc, this can easily be arranged. You will need either html skills or WYSWYG software to update the site yourself and ftp software to upload it to the server.

We also offer competitively priced training at your own pc for web maintenance and ftp with Macromedia Dreamweaver, Adobe Photoshop and ftp programmes such as Coffee Cup or Wise Ftp. In addition to this we can also offer basic computing help, tailor made to your requirements - from 'Using the internet & email' and 'File management' to Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint & Publisher.

What information do I need to supply?

Your business logo if you have one, alternatively we can design a logo for you. Any promotional material you would like the web site to complement for example a letterhead, business card, brochure etc. Any good quality images you would like to include in your web site. Content for each web page written in a coherent & well structured manner or we can write copy for you at a competitive price.

If you require one of our template based sites you may still need to supply the above information depending on your needs.

What is the timescale for creating a web site?

The time it takes to build a web site varies according to the size of the site and the clients requirements. In addition, the quicker content is provided initially, the sooner the web site will be finished.
